Smokey Ridge Ranch is a small family farm and farmstand on Carson Road in Placerville's Apple Hill. It grows 17 varieties of apples, chestnuts, wine grapes and flowers, and in 2026 it is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from August 22 through December 6.
What are the hours?
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 5 PM. It is closed Monday through Thursday for regular visits.
Can we pick our own?
Yes, the farm offers u-pick apples and chestnuts. At the farmstand you can also taste apple varieties side by side and ask which ones are best for what you have in mind.
Is there anything for the adults?
The farmstand pours tastings of the farm's own wines and hard apple cider, made from grapes and apples grown on the ranch. Tastings run Fridays through Mondays through November, and the farm also sells its own preserves and condiments.
