Smith Family Farms is an eight-generation grain and livestock farm three miles west of Pendleton. Its pumpkin patch opens on October weekends only, from Saturday, October 3 through Saturday, October 31.
What are the hours?
Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM in October. It is closed on weekdays except for booked field trips.
What do kids get to do?
Pick your own pumpkins, ride a hay wagon, try the corn maze and play on a full playground. The petting zoo has donkeys, cows, goats and rabbits.
Is there food?
Yes. The concession stand serves fresh cooked burgers, hot nachos and caramel apples. Mini pumpkins and gourds run $3 to $10.
Can a school group visit?
Field trips are booked by appointment on weekdays for $6 per child, with teachers free. They include an Indiana farming talk, a wagon ride, a petting zoo tour, the corn maze, the playground and a pumpkin for each child.
