Battleview Orchards on Wemrock Road in Freehold has been farmed by the Applegate family since 1908. Its fall pumpkin season began the weekend of September 19 and 20, with the pumpkin patch and sunflower field open.
When is the farm open?
The country store is open 9 AM to 6 PM every day except Tuesday. Pick-your-own is also closed on Tuesdays, and picking times change, so call (732) 462-0756 or check the farm's Facebook page before you go.
Should we bring cash?
Yes. The picking areas are cash only, and so are the hot donut and beverage trailer. The country store takes cash and Visa or MasterCard.
What is in the country store?
Apple cider donuts made fresh every day, the farm's own pressed cider from mid-September, pies, breads, muffins and other baked goods.
Anything else to know?
The restrooms are portable with hand sanitizer and no running water. Buses and large vans are not allowed, and the farm no longer hosts large picking groups.
