Riamede Farm on Oakdale Road in Chester is an old-time apple orchard with a pumpkin field out back, and one of the first pick-your-own orchards in New Jersey, open to the public since 1974. Pumpkin picking opened Saturday, September 19, and its Fall Festival runs through October 31.
What are the hours?
Open Wednesday through Monday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and closed Tuesdays. The last orchard entry is at 4 PM and the orchard gates close at 5 PM.
What is at the Fall Festival?
The pumpkin patch, you-pick apples, a corn trail, a pumpkin house, an apple slingshot, kids' lawn games, hay wagon rides, live music and fresh cider donuts. Everyone pays admission.
Can we bring the dog or a picnic?
No dogs or other pets, including emotional support animals, so leave them at home. Picnicking is not allowed in the orchard or by the store. Portable bathrooms are on site, some of them accessible.
Are there any family evenings?
Yes, a Family Night Out on Friday, October 23, from 5:30 to 7 PM, with candy corn canvas painting, a Halloween scavenger hunt, pizza and donuts. Tickets are sold ahead.
