North Star Orchards is a family farm on Route 233 in Westmoreland, family-run since 1986 that began by selling apples from a newly planted orchard. U-pick apples started on Saturday, September 19, and the market stays open through December 24.
Does it cost anything to visit?
No. Admission, parking, the wagon ride and the kids' corn maze are all free. Free wagon rides began on the weekend of September 26 and 27.
What is in the market?
Farm fresh produce, aged cheeses, fresh-cut flowers and apple cider from the farm's own press. The in-house bakery makes pies, pastries, cookies, muffins and breads from scratch every day.
Is it open for Christmas trees?
Yes. Later in the season there are rows of fresh-cut Christmas trees outside, along with decorated wreaths and handmade garland. Call 315-853-1024 with questions.
