Ritter's Cider Mill on Wimmer's Road in Jefferson Township has been making cider since 1978. It is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM, and its 2026 fall activities run through November 1.
Does it cost anything to get in?
There is no admission fee, and most attractions are free, including the hay barn with hidden passages and a slide, the corn maze and the farm animals. A cup of feed for the goats, donkey, chickens, alpacas and cows costs extra.
Which activities cost money?
Hayrides are $6 a person, with ages 2 and under free, and pony rides are $10 per rider in cash. The apple slingshot is 3 apples for $1 or 20 for $5. Hayrides and pony rides run Saturdays, Sundays and Columbus Day Monday from 11 AM to 5 PM, weather permitting.
Can we bring a picnic?
No. Outside food and drinks are not allowed unless medically required. A food truck is usually on site on weekends from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Can we pick apples off the trees?
No, but you can fill a basket from a wide variety of freshly picked apples. The cider is unpasteurized with no preservatives, and the mill says it freezes well for up to a year. Pets should stay home, though service dogs are allowed.
