Evergreen Farms is a Christmas tree farm on Monkey Road in Elgin, about 28 minutes from Austin, that has run a fall Pumpkin Hunt since 2001. In 2026 the Pumpkin Hunt is open every weekend in October.
Is there an admission fee?
No. Admission and parking are free and no reservation is needed. Activities run on $3.50 tickets bought in the gift shop, and unused tickets are not refunded.
How does the Pumpkin Hunt work?
A free wagon ride takes you into the Christmas tree fields, where pie pumpkins are hidden, and one ticket gets you a pie pumpkin. Tickets also cover a pumpkin launcher, train ride, fishing pools, zip lines, mazes, a bounce house and foam axe throwing.
When is it open?
Saturdays 10 AM to 5 PM and Sundays 1 to 5 PM. On weekdays in October the farm is open 3 to 5 PM for pumpkin sales only.
Can we bring the dog?
Yes, pets are allowed on a leash if you clean up after them. The farm takes cash, checks and major credit cards.
