Montrose Orchards on North Seymour Road has been in the Hill family since 1926, and this is its 100th fall season. It grows more than 30 kinds of apples along with pears, pumpkins and squash, and the fall season kicked off on September 26.
How do the hayride and pumpkin patch work?
Public hayrides run on Saturdays and Sundays for $7 a person, with children 3 and under free. The ride lasts 25 to 35 minutes along a kid-friendly decorated trail, and a pumpkin from the patch is $6 more. Walking back to the patch is not allowed.
Is it scary?
No. The farm says there are no frights on the hayride. Wagons are handicap accessible.
What is in the store?
Fresh cider, donuts, pies and bakery treats, plus apples and bins of pie pumpkins and squash. Call (810) 639-6971 to check hours.
